Director of Stakeholder Engagement
Becky Rafter’s passion for movement building and creating financial sustainability for grassroots social justice work is manifested in building authentic relationships, developing leaders and collaborating across class, race and other markers of difference. Before joining the FEX team in fall 2011, Becky worked with the Research Center for Leadership In Action, the Fund for Southern Communities and NARAL Pro-Choice Georgia. Right now she’s excited about the confluence of her work at FEX, the Occupy movement and models of alternative economies, such as the NYC Participatory Budgeting Campaign, for which she is a researcher. While living in Atlanta, Becky served on the boards of Spark Reproductive Justice Now, Feminist Women’s Health Center and the Little Five Points Community Center. She recently received an MPA in International Policy and Nonprofit Management from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where she helped found the Stonewall Policy Alliance (SPA) and lead Wagner Intersectionality Studies is Essential (WISE). Becky lives in Brooklyn.
