Wisconsin Community Fund (WCF) announced that September 12 marked the beginning of its 35th Funding Cycle for social justice projects from around Wisconsin. Since 1982, WCF has made grant money available to progressive groups that are typically too small, too new, or too controversial for established funders.
Over the years the Fund has made grants to grassroots organizations working in a variety areas such as racial justice, workers rights, economic justice, LGBT rights, environmental justice, and peace education. Groups must be based in Wisconsin and have annual operating budgets under $400,000 to qualify. The deadline for submission of completed applications is November 1, 2011. Grants of varying sizes will be made up to a maximum of $5,000. Groups that work for “Change, not Charity” can find more detailed information – including the new online application form – at www.wcfund.org.
